SSH Telnet in Cloud Website Hosting
SSH access is available with all Linux cloud website hosting plans we provide. With some of them, it is featured by default, while with others it is an optional upgrade which you can include with several clicks in your hosting Control Panel. You may get SSH access through the section dedicated to it in which you can also find the info which you need to connect - the host, the port number and the username. You can pick the password that you will use and, if required, you'll be able to change it with several clicks from the same location. All the commands which could be used with our shared plans are listed within a help article together with relevant examples. If the SSH access feature is permitted for your account, you'll also be able to upload files using your preferred FTP client via an SFTP connection.
SSH Telnet in Semi-dedicated Servers
SSH access is included by default with some of our semi-dedicated server packages, while with others you can add it from the hosting Control Panel if necessary - even only for the current month. In either case, you are able to activate and de-activate the feature with just one click from the SSH section of the CP. In the same place, you will discover the server name, the port number and the username required to connect to our platform. You will also find a box in which you can easily type the password which you want to use, as it doesn't have to be the same as the one you use to log into the Control Panel. For better protection, you could also change it as often as you require. A complete list of the commands which can be performed inside a semi-dedicated account is supplied in our Knowledge Base, along with the syntax and a couple of examples. An extra function after SSH access is enabled shall be the ability to connect to your hosting space via SFTP through any FTP client which supports this type of connections.
